i) Entrepreneurship training most of which will be free, or offered at a subsidized fee, for members and at competitive market rates for non-members. SKB will create, and publish to members and the public, a training calendar for topics such as art as a business, intellectual property law, contracts review and management, business structures, tax planning, business modeling, business planning, personal branding, elevator pitch, marketing, digital marketing, distribution, bookkeeping, personal finance management, pitching and fundraising, and resource mobilization.
(ii) A special focus on assisting members in branding and digital marketing and hosting a weekly online market day on the SKB website and other SKB digital channels.
(iii) SKB will actively source or create its own short technical training courses or masterclasses in tradeable skills, in partnership with qualified and experienced organizations or trainers. Most of these courses will require payment by the artists. However, SKB will always endeavor to negotiate the best rates for its members.
(iv) Exhibition opportunities at meetings and events of at least 1 trade exhibition in a relevant coastal County, through SKB’s membership in that association. Under this, SKB will help the members to contribute and consolidate resources to secure exhibition booths or tables where members can display and sell their handicrafts and artwork. SKB will charge a flat fee of KES 500 to memberships for every exhibition opportunity created.
