Our Story
Creativity Meets Economic Opportunity
Sanaa Kama Biashara, meaning “Art as Business,” was founded on the belief that creative talent should not remain informal or economically invisible. Across Africa, countless young creatives possess remarkable talent in music, performance, storytelling, visual arts, and digital content. Yet many lack the systems, training, and opportunities required to transform their talent into sustainable livelihoods.
SKB exists to close that gap.
We work with creative youth by providing structured development pathways that equip them with professional skills, industry knowledge, and access to markets. By nurturing both the creative and entrepreneurial capacities of young artists, SKB transforms artistic expression into economic participation.
Through our programs, young creatives gain the confidence, discipline, and professional foundation necessary to participate meaningfully in the economy while building dignified and sustainable careers.

The Outlook
Our Vission
Unlocking the Economic Potential of Creative Youth

We intentionally create opportunities for youth who are often excluded from traditional economic pathways.
Integrity
Transparency, accountability, and responsible partnerships guide our operations and relationships with participants and stakeholders.
Innovation
We apply creative and forward-thinking solutions to address youth unemployment and economic vulnerability.
The Challenge We Address
Unlocking Opportunity for Creative Youth
Across many African communities, young people face structural barriers that limit their ability to participate meaningfully in the economy. These challenges include:
Youth Unemployment and Underemployment
Millions of young people possess talent but lack access to structured opportunities that enable them to build sustainable livelihoods.
Knowledge Poverty and Employability Gaps
Despite increased school enrolment, many young people lack access to quality education, vocational training, and practical skills development. Limited access to technical and vocational education further restricts economic mobility.
The Digital Divide
Access to digital knowledge and technology remains uneven, preventing many youth from fully participating in the digital and knowledge-based economy.
Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing
Economic uncertainty and limited opportunities contribute to psychosocial stress and reduced long-term optimism among young people.
Lack of Commercialisation Systems
Talented youth often lack the systems, mentorship, and industry connections needed to transform creativity into sustainable income.
Our Theory of Change
From Talent to Economic Independence
SKB believes that when creative youth are equipped with the right skills, mindset, systems, and market access, they can build sustainable livelihoods and reduce economic vulnerability.
By combining professional development, mentorship, and market exposure, we enable young creatives to transition from informal talent to professional economic participant
